Cadet Pilot Program Preparation
(For IndiGo, Air India, and SpiceJet Cadet Programs)
Overview
The Cadet Pilot Program is one of the most structured and transparent ways to become an airline pilot. Airlines like IndiGo, Air India, and SpiceJet select candidates through aptitude-based assessments and sponsor them for integrated training with their partner flight schools.
At PilotUs Pilot Training Academy, we prepare students for every stage of these airline cadet selections — aptitude, psychometric, group discussions, interviews, and simulator assessments — ensuring each student performs confidently and consistently.
We are a Ground Training Academy — not a flying school — and we do not earn commissions from any airline or flight training organization. Our only mission is to help you achieve your aviation career dream ethically and efficiently.
Cadet Pilot Program Structure
1. IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program (in collaboration with CAE)
The IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program is conducted with globally recognized partners such as CAE, L3 Harris, FTA, and Skyborne. It is designed to identify, train, and certify future IndiGo First Officers through a carefully structured selection and training process.
IndiGo Cadet Program – Selection Stages
Stage 1: CAE Pilot Aptitude Screening (Online Assessment)
Conducted at CAE’s authorized test centers (like Gurugram or Delhi).
Consists of:
Numerical & Verbal Reasoning
Physics-based Technical Questions
Cognitive and Psychomotor Modules including:
Hand–eye coordination tasks
Multi-tasking and control tracking (DLR/COMPASS style)
Reaction time and divided attention tests
English language comprehension
Stage 2: Psychometric & Personality Evaluation
Conducted via CAE’s online psychometric platform.
Evaluates:
Personality traits
Team behavior and leadership qualities
Decision-making, stress tolerance, and safety mindset
Each applicant receives a psychometric profile summary used for the next interview phase.
Stage 3: Personal Interview (HR + Technical)
Conducted by IndiGo and CAE instructors or HR team.
Focuses on:
Motivation to become a pilot
Understanding of aviation and current affairs
Situational and behavioral questions
Technical basics like lift, drag, thrust, aircraft instruments, and navigation
Stage 4: CAE Aviation Medical Assessment
Includes medical fitness checks aligned with DGCA Class 1 standards.
Conducted by IndiGo/CAE-approved medical examiners.
Stage 5: CAE Pilot Training & DGCA CPL Integration
Successful candidates are assigned to one of CAE’s training locations (in India, USA, or Europe).
Training includes:
Ground school theory (DGCA syllabus)
Integrated flight training (around 200 hours)
Multi-engine and instrument training
After training, candidates undergo license conversion (if trained abroad) under DGCA India.
